ROOF TOOL
Add Roofs and Dormers
You can quickly add roofs to your maps. Be aware that unless your roof is on a different Level, anything covered by a roof will be hidden and so unusable. See the Roofs as nothing more than a complex kind of Patterns.

MODES
There are two modes of drawing for Roofs: Quickbox or Manual.

Quickbox is a simple rectangle, either horizontal or vertical, and Manual lets you create a roof with angles.
In Manual mode, you will see a width slider appear, that will set the size of your roof.
Pro Tip: You can bend roofs by holding SHIFT while drawing in Manual Mode.
STYLES
You can choose roof styles from the library. Note that you can’t change a roof’s color.
TYPE
You can choose if you’re drawing a Gable, a Hip or a Dormer.
Pro Tip: A dormer is a good way to add variety to your roofs.
SORTING
You can set if your next roof will be placed Over or Under your current roof(s).
That this can’t be changed afterwards.
SHADE
You can adjust the sun direction and the shade contrast. It will affect every roof on your map at once. You can also toggle shading on/off entirely.
Pro Tip: In the Selection Tool, you can manually rotate and resize a Roof.
USEFUL INFO
📌 Good to know 📌
A roof style or shape can’t be edited afterward but can be move, rotated or resized in the Selection Tool
The shape of your roof in Quickbox mode will impact its orientation. If you’re not satisfied with it, either redraw it in another angle, use the Manual Mode or rotate it in the selection tool. To get a very wide dormer with minimal projection, use Manual Mod
