MATERIAL BRUSH
Paint organic looking textures
The material tool is probably the most difficult one to describe. It allows you to paint some specific textures on your map, that are designed to have a specific kind of border.

BRUSH SIZE
Choose a brush size by clicking on one of the circles or by using your mouse wheel:

You can change the brush size with the MOUSE WHEEL or with [ and ].
LAYER
Choose the layer of the Material before drawing it. Click on the dropdown menu to change it.

MATERIAL DRAWING
Drawing
Select a material texture in the list and start drawing by clicking on the map.

If you want to add more of the same material, just draw again and the shape will be updated.

You can add several Materials just by selecting a new one in the list.

Erasing
If you want to remove some of you Material, hold ⌥ ALT while drawing.

To be able to remove a material, you need to select the same one in the list, and select the correct layer.
LAYERS
You can add the same Material on several layers, which will prevent them from merging.

You can move a placed Material to the front by clicking on Move To Front and then clicking on your Material with the same texture and with the correct layer selected.

It's hard to predict if a Material will be placed on top or below another one on the same layer. With the current Dungeondraft version, I couldn't find any consistency in that behavior, while in some very old versions, it seemed like the newest Material was always on top. It might be a bug that has appeared with one of the various releases.
SMOOTH CORNERS
You can enable the Smooth button to reduce sharp corners.

This button is only smoothing the material you've selected. It will be updated as soon as you enable the button, but if you want to toggle it off, you'll need to manually update the shape.
