DROPSHADOWER
by MBMM
Dropshadower adds one of the most requested features to Dungeondraft: the ability to quickly create and manage good looking shadows on objects. To me, this mod is a must have which will help you making your maps looking a lot better.

HOW TO USE
Installing the mod
As for any other mod, download it, extract it from the zip file and place it in your Mods folder.
You will notice there's another zip file inside the first one. DO NOT UNZIP IT AND DO DOT DELETE IT.
If you do so, the mod won't work. Keep it inside its folder.

Enabling the mod
In the Selection Tool, you will find a Dropshadow Editor button. Clicking on it will display a new tab on the right part of your screen.

If you click on Enable at the top, above the circle, you now get access to the settings.

You can now apply shadows to any object:
Select one or several objects on your map
Make sure default Shadows are disabled
Change any setting in the Dropshadow Editor
The dropshadow will now be updated

Distance & Angle
You can change the shadow distance and angle by manually dragging the sun icon in the circle. You can also change the values in the boxes below.

Pro Tip: You can bypass the max distance by typing a superior value in the Distance Box. It usually starts to crop the shadow around 400 to 600, so I wouldn't recommend to go above.
Opacity
You can change the shadow opacity with the Shadow Strength slider.

Blur, Shadow Quality & Shadow Steps
You can manage how blurry your shadow looks with the Blur Radius slider.
Shadow Quality and Shadow Steps both affect the Blur quality. It wouldn't be super helpful to detail how they work, so just keep in mind they usually work find between 5 and 20 in most cases. If you have a lot of assets, having them at maximum might impact performance.

Shadow Position
With the Shadow Position option, you can change wether the shadow of a selected asset is right behind the object or at the bottom of the layer. Depending on how you make your maps, it can be useful to have that option.

Copy Settings
When an asset with Dropshadow is selected, you can copy its settings with the button at the bottom of the tab and paste it onto another asset.
If the second asset has already shadow settings, they will be updated immediately.
If the second asset doesn't have any shadow yet, you'll need to update one of the settings after pressing Paste so the shadow can be displayed. The safest way to do it without messing up your settings is to switch the Shadow Position twice.
⚠️ WARNINGS ⚠️
Sliders not updating
One of the biggest issues with this mod is the lack of slider update when you select an asset that has different settings from what's currently on the screen. There's not much to do about it, unfortunatly.
Shadows & Cloned Levels
Cloned levels don't keep shadows from the mod. Fortunately, this complementary mod fixes that.
Settings not appearing on the right side
If you didn't follow the installation steps properly and deleted the second zip, the mod won't be able to display the tab on the right. Restore the zip file or download the mod again.

Usually, creators post some minor updates of their mods on Discord and release a bigger update from time to time on CartographyAssets.com, so if you're missing some features from there, you might find the most recent version on Discord.
