OBJECTS TOOL
Place one asset at a time

In that tool, you will be able to choose from a wide variety of assets and place them one by one on the map. About 1800 built-in objects are included in the software, and you can add many more with custom packs.

The Objects Tool is split into two parts, one on the left of your screen with controls, and one on the right with the asset selection.
BASIC CONTROLS
Select an Object in the right panel and click to place it on the map.
Rotate it with your MOUSE WHEEL (15° steps) or with the Rotation Slider on the left.
Change its scale by holding ⌥ ALT while scrolling with your mouse wheel.
If you want to move it or remove it, you'll need to use the Selection Tool.
ADVANCED CONTROLS
Hold A to mirror an asset before placing it.
RIGHT CLICK to rotate an object by 90° increments.
Hold Z while using the MOUSE WHEEL to rotate an object by 5° steps.
Pro Tip: In the Selection Tool, you can manually rotate an Object and change its size beyond the tool's limits.
Cycle through the objects in the library by holding 🡅 SHIFT and using the MOUSE WHEEL.
SETTINGS
Layers
You can select the layer you want to place your asset on, and also choose if the next one will be over or under those on the same layers.

Shadow
You can enable or disable drop shadow for each individual object.

Block Light
You can set an asset to block light made with the Light Tool. Basically, the asset will cast a shadow if it is in the light source's range.
Please note that the light source needs to have Shadows enabled.

Author's Thoughts
While this seems like an interesting addition, the object in itself isn't in the light, so it casts shadow over itself. I think it would have made more sense to start the shadow after the asset, so I find this feature a bit frustrating.
Colorable assets
Some assets are fully or partly colorable. By default, they will be displayed with a reddish tint in the asset library on the right, and will be accompanied by a small picker symbol on the the top left of their preview.

You can change the custom color in the left panel. The rectangle is a dropdown menu and the picker icon is a full color picker.

When you select a color, you see all the colorable assets change in real time in the library. The placed assets won't be affected, but you can change the color of a placed asset in the Selection Tool.

FINDING AN OBJECT
Tags
On the left, there's a list of Tags that can help you finding an asset. Click on a tag and see the corresponding objects in the right panel.

Sets
If you click on Custom Set, you will open a dropdown menu with several sets of tags you can choose from. The corresponding assets from all the tags will be displayed on the right.

If you're using custom asset packs, the Tags and the Tag Sets might not look the same, as the asset creators are the ones choosing and naming them.
If several third party creators use the same name for Tag or a Tag Set, their assets will be merged under that Tag or Tag Set.
Pro Tip: Tags can also be used in the Search Bar.
Search Bar
As for the Path Tool, you can use the search bar in the right panel to look for keywords (names of the objects). The slider under it goes from Fuzzy (inexact spelling) to Exact (specific spelling).

Used Assets
You can look for assets you've already placed on the map by using the Used tab in the right panel.

Be aware that the Used tab is not always working perfectly, and you might see assets you've removed, or miss assets you've placed. It works fine most of the time.
Asset info
Since V 1.1.1.0, in the bottom right corner of the screen, you will find the name of the selected asset and the pack it comes from ("Default" being the built-in assets).

USEFUL INFO
Good to know
Since Dungeondraft 1.1.1.1, all the default Portals are available as Objects too.
In the Selection Tool, you can access all the objects settings and even more
Dungeondraft contains over 1,5k objects but some third party asset creators have much more, sometimes going over 50k or even 100k assets.
