UNOFFICIAL DUNGEONDRAFT MANUAL
Updated to DD version 1.2.0.0

Welcome to this Unofficial Dungeondraft Manual. If you have any question, feel free to ask on the official Discord server, where you can find me (Moulk) and many other helping people.
I’ve also made a video tutorial (for version 1.1.0.6), which served as a base for this document. Feel free to have a look if you prefer video tutorials. Of course, the written one is more complete and more up to date and I will do my best to keep it updated.
About This Document
This unofficial manual was greatly inspired by the Unofficial Manual made by Eightbitz years ago, which was written for Dungeondraft v.0.9.2.0 and released barely a few months after the official release of the software in 2020. There have been many updates since then, so this document is meant to be an up-to-date version of Eightbit's manual (or at least updated), but also with a different approach on the subject. This guide is not meant to instruct anyone on how to make great-looking maps, even though you'll find some tips here and there. It’s meant to show you how to use the various features of the program, to enable you to apply your own ideas on making great maps. The developer has not participated in the writing of this document, and has offered no endorsement.
About The Author
You might know me as Moulk. I am not the developer of Dungeondraft, and I have no professional affiliation with the developer. I’m a customer, just like you. I've been pretty active in the community since 2021, trying to help other users as best as I could, especially on the official Discord. I've made a few tutorials and map timelapses on my Youtube channel, worked with many third party assets creators and made countless custom assets packs over the years. I'm making this written tutorial with the hope it can help you find the answers you're looking for and discover some new tricks you didn't know.
Is the program really so difficult to use that I have to read this whole manual?
In a word, no. My advice is to put this manual aside for a while, and just jump in and start having fun with the program. Get the feel for the program first, then come back to this as a reference manual. Dungeondraft is very easy to use. This document is the size it is because Dungeondraft has a lot of features, not because it’s difficult to use. This document contains a large number of screenshots, which have also contributed to its large size. While Dungeondraft is easy to use, there are some features, that might not be obvious. And exactly which features those are might differ from person to person. Instead of reading this manual straight through, you can reference the table of contents to jump to the page you want for the topic you want.
